“Holy Trinity” Baptist Church

- ‘Holy Trinity’ Baptist Church is located in Deva, a city of 70.000 inhabitants in the central western part of Romania, called Transilvania. It is the city where David Francisc, first anabaptist was marthired in the citadel, and where Nadia Comaneci, the perfect 10 gymnast, was trained.
Our Church is dedicated to honour God by serving people of all ages and social condition. This is why, besides our church ministries (children, youth, musical, woman, families, small groups, discipleship ...) we have the following missionary projects:

“Barnabas” Bible College – beginning 13th year of training leaders and church planters.

Canteen for poor – feeding 65 people, 5 days a week (most of them are not members in our church).

“Samuel” Kindergarten – teaching 90 kids every day We help financialy the kids from deprived families ($ 120/month).

Planting Churches - in Hunedoara County

“Samuel” Christian School – teaching 50 kids every day from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm. (We help financialy the kids from deprived families)

Prison ministry – weekly visits to teenagers and adults in a nearby prison

Mision trips in Dmitrovka, Ukraine

Many outreach (open air) activities: resurection March, prolife meetings... in the most central place in town.

Pharmacy ministry – distributing medication for sick people

Because our building is already full with activities, we planned to extend our ministry in the most populated and most poor area of Deva, and we called it TOC Trinity Outreach Centre.
There are about 25.000 people withing the walking distance.

Closer to people – bringing people closer to God

A building is started to fulfill this purpose.

There will be 4 main functions:

Medical clinic - for sick people;

Conference (training) center

- Conference room - will provide a special place for training people in different areas
- Accomodations - for visiting students and faculty
- Will provide an adequate place for “Barnabas Bible College” development
- will accomodate a church plant

Charity – helping deprived people

- a poor people’s canteen – for feeding the hungry;
- classrooms for day care – helping kids from disfunctional families to do their homework.

Gymnasium - building relationships in an unthreatening environment;
- kids, youth and sport activities.

STEPS done:
The property - We bought the land (worth $580.000) – done
Drawings & approvals $ 40,000 – done
Foundation and locker rooms for the Gym $220,000 – 90% done
The Gymnasium $ 300.000 – 50% done

STEPS urgent to be done
Finish the Gym (walls, heating ventilation);
Finish and equip the locker rooms;
Build the main entrans for spectators;
Build a Canteen & caffeteria;
Acces and parking.

Financial situation in Romania

Average salary - $350/month
Average pension - $150/month

Costs:
- Gasoline = $ 5.2/gallon
- Living expenses (heating, electricity...) for one month = $150 – $400
- Rent for apartment/month = $200-$400
- Food /person/month = $100 - $175
- Clothing /person/month = $20-$70 (mostly secondhand)
